What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a therapeutic massage practised on the feet or the hands. It is an holistic treatment which works to rebalance and harmonise the body. The organs and systems of the body are mapped out on the feet and the hands. By working specific reflex points, a response is triggered in the corresponding organs and systems of the body, enabling the body to balance and heal itself. Each treatment is unique, and Alison tailors the session to each client's individual requirements.

What can reflexology do for me?
Anyone, adults or children, can enjoy a reflexology treatment.

Reflexology may:
• reduce stress and anxiety
• improve digestive function
• lower blood pressure
• improve sleeping patterns
• increase relaxation
• balance hormonal problems
• improve quality of life for sufferers of chronic
  conditions
• benefit the immune system
• help sports injuries

Equally, it can be enjoyed as a deeply relaxing treatment; and used as a chance to unwind and forget about life for an hour.

What happens when I have reflexology?
The first session lasts an hour and a half to two hours. A consultation takes place first followed by a one hour treatment. The consultation covers your medical history and your lifestyle, and it ensures Alison is aware of any existing conditions you might have, before she undertakes the treatment. Alison uses her hands to work the reflex points in your feet, and she will explain fully at the start of a treatment what to expect. Subsequent treatments last an hour, as no consultation is required.
